Onsite computer repair is necessary when your computer has major problems - whether software or hardware, desktop or laptop, PC or Mac - sometimes onsite computer help is necessary to recover your data and get your computer working again!
Onsite computer repair has 4 steps - I’ll go over each of them:
-Find the right onsite computer repair company
-Correctly diagnose the problem over phone and email
-The computer technician comes to your home or company and fixes your computer
-Last followups for computer repair - additional parts, additional service, etc
FIND THE RIGHT ONSITE COMPUTER REPAIR COMPANY
This is hard to do - there are many things you need to optimize for such as:
-Computer repair price
-Repair shop availability and turnaround time
-Friendliness and service reputation
-Specialty and expertise in your specific computer problem
Those are just an initial 4. I’d thoroughly research at home, on site computer repair shops through Google and Yahoo.
Once you find 5 reputable laptop or desktop repair companies, ask them for customer references. Email or call these references and ask them questions about their repair experience.
In particular, you want to know if the customer was cheated or overcharged for services.
CORRECTLY DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM OVER PHONE AND EMAIL
Most onsite computer repair happens after an initial email or phone conversation. Usually the technician on the line will try to diagnose your problem so the company can be prepared when they send an on site expert. This is part of remote computer support help.
They will ask you questions like:
-What’s wrong with your computer - hardware or software?
-Do you know which hardware component is failing - hard drive, motherboard, monitor, keyboard, etc?
-Any other symptoms - like a slow computer, laptop overheating, CD drive failure, etc?
They’ll usually suggest some simple repairs such as:
-Running Antivirus software to remove viruses, malware, trojans
-Deleting programs and unneeded data
-Running registry cleaners and PC cleaning software
Finally, they’ll determine that a computer expert needs to be sent to your home or office.
A COMPUTER TECHNICIAN COMES TO REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER
Wow it happened! Usually the repairs are fast - once the technician from the PC computer repair center figures out what’s wrong with your laptop, it doesn’t take them long to fix it. From replacing drives to installing new monitors to removing bad viruses and broken software.
Occasionally, they’ll need to send the computer to a remote repair shop for future inspection and work. This takes much longer.
80% of the time, they’ll be able to fix it onsite. Hence the term “onsite computer repair“!
FINAL FOLLOWUPS
If they ship it to a remote computer repair company, this will take several weeks. But you’ll eventually get your computer back - much faster, more secure, and safe to use.
If you experience any more problems - your repaired computer freezes, programs lockup, specific hardware components don’t work - there will be followup.
But 99% of the time, the onsite computer repair company should take care of all problems.
Hope that helps! In general, the more computer training skills you have, the safer your repair experience will be. Like I always say, it’s like buying cars!
