Computer Hardware Support - Don’t Be Cheated

PC computer hardware support for laptops and desktops

Are you having computer hardware support issues?

Is your laptop broken? Desktop hard drive not working? Computer freezing a lot or running extremely slow?

In this article, I’ll cover the 3 main reasons why you have computer hardware problems. I’ll then discuss a few cheap, fast, and easy solutions to computer hardware support including how even YOU can fix your computer problems!

REASON 1. YOUR COMPUTER IS OLD

If you have a PC, this is a huge problem with computers. Windows Operating System (it doesn’t matter if you have Vista or XP, 1995 or 2000), it accumulates problems over time.

This eventually affects your hardware because your motherboard, CPU, RAM, and other components begin to malfunction. If the software isn’t telling the hardware the right instructions, the hardware will have problems and support needs.

After about 5 years, your computer will start to break down. Most computer hardware - such as a CD drive - isn’t built to last for more than 10 years or 5 years of intense use.

If you’re a longtime computer user, you’ll notice that after 3-5 years of heavy usage, your laptop or desktop tends to have many problems.

You’re lucky if you have a Mac - these are often built to last longer.

To make your computer last longer, you have to treat it right - don’t use it intensely, turn it off when not in use, hibernate quickly, frequently defragment your hard drive and upgrade components, and so forth.

REASON 2. YOU HAVE GENERIC HARDWARE PARTS

Often if you buy straight from a manufacturer, they will put in low quality hardware components. Particularly those super cheap desktops built by companies like Acer and Dell will have generic components.

These components are prone to fail frequently - think about bad hard drives and poorly built monitors.

To prevent this problem and avoid computer hardware support, purchase regularly priced PCs from vendors well-known for build quality (such as the IBM Thinkpad series for Laptops). If you build your own desktop, you can pick top of the line parts that won’t fall apart in a couple years.

REASON 3. YOU ABUSE YOUR COMPUTER

This happens all the time, and is the #1 cause for computer hardware support needs.

Spill liquids on your computer? You’re guilty.

Carry your laptop in a backpack all day? You’re guilty.

Leave your computer on overnight even when sleeping? You’re guilty.

Behaviors like these cause your computer hardware to break down quickly, leaving huge problems that are expensive and easily avoidable.

So treat your computer better, and it will last longer and make you happy.

HOW TO FIND THE BEST COMPUTER HARDWARE SUPPORT

I have a few simple pieces of advice from my years as a computer hardware technician when finding a suitable computer repair shop:

-Don’t find the cheapest solution possible - this will only prolong any PC problems

-Be patient and be prepared to wait weeks if not months for solutions

-Research computer repair companies and remote computer repair shops thoroughly before agreeing to service - many have no experience and will make the problems worse

-Be specific when describing your problem, including exactly when you started noticing it, the behaviors that cause it, and so forth. The better your diagnosis, the faster they can fix your computer’s hardware!

I hope that helps. Like cars, computer hardware support is complicated and requires a lot of expertise to maintain and fix. Be careful and be patient!
