Problems with computer? 5 steps to fix them now!

Problems with computer? Solve desktop and laptop problems with your computer

Serious problems with computer? If you’re having major computer problems, you’ve come to the right place.

In this article, I’ll discuss the 5 biggest problems with a computer, including specific solutions to each problem.

We’ll cover hardware problems and software problems. Whether you have a Dell Latitude Laptop or an HP Desktop, we’ll have a solution for you.

What are your most common problems with computers?

1. Bad registry

Uh oh. If you have a bad registry, it will start to mess up everything - from your operating system to your monitor refresh rate, from your CD drive to your hard drive data.

The solution? Easy - download a registry cleaner like CC Cleaner. Run it at least 2x. Backup everything first - including a copy of your pre-cleaning registry in case things fail.

A good registry cleaner should typically solve any PC performance issues that you’re facing.

2. Malware like viruses and trojan horses

This usually happens if you browse the internet a lot and download files such as mpegs, mp3s, and the like. Often .zip files include hidden malware that you don’t know about - adware, trojans, and all sorts of bad stuff that will steal and corrupt your data.

What to do? Find a good antivirus program like AVG Free (which is absolutely free to use!). Run thorough scans through your laptop or desktop and root out any viruses. This should get us 95% of the solution.

If software programs or operating system functions are still whacky after that, you may have a serious virus that can’t be easily removed. At this point, I’d seek the professional help of onsite computer repair technicians or remote computer support shops.

3. Very slow computer

Is your PC computer running slowly? This is the most common problem with computers.

Slow computers have a number of causes. Common ones include:

-Lack of hard drive space - check how many gigabytes you have available

-Viruses and malware - check my advice above

-A crappy registry from overuse - check my advice above

-Lack of RAM (DRAM, SDRAM, memory) - this usually requires you to add additional RAM. You can buy
common computer repair parts online or at your local computer retail store like Best Buy or Circuit City

4. Computer freezes

A freezing computer usually spells trouble. It can mean bad software, a buggy operating system like Windows 95 or Windows Vista, or malfunctioning hardware like poor circuits in the keyboard.

If it’s bad software, you can figure this out by uninstalling everything you don’t need.

A buggy operating system can be solved by reinstalling your entire OS - whether that’s Windows or PS/2, Safari or Linux. This can be time consuming especially with a slow computer, but the trouble is worth it. I promise.

If it’s bad hardware, you’ll need a computer technician to look at it. Look at your warranty and see if the manufacturer covers the laptop or desktop computer repairs parts. This should save some money.

5. Hardware problems

This is usually obvious - is your monitor fuzzy? Is half of your monitor broken? Is your keyboard unresponsive? Is your mousepad not tracking correctly?

Whatever the problem, you want to isolate it first. Make sure that it’s your keyboard malfunction and not poor software drivers. Make sure it’s your broekn CD drive and not a small piece of food stuck on the inside.

Once you isolate the problem with your computer, do a thorough search online for computer repair parts to get a rough price estimate. This should help when finding computer repair help or a computer technician to fix the hardware issue.

Hope that helps! Good luck with all your problems with computers.
